10:15-11:00AM | STORY PROBLEM 

YOU are AWESOME! Grab a sheet of paper and solve the Story Problem of the day. Have your parent/guardian video (explaining how you solved the problem) or take pictures of you while doing it. Once you are finished, have a grownup post it Facebook using the hashtag #MEMPHISMERIT. You can use any materials from around the house to help you solve the problem. You can also call the virtual teacher for support!

Monday (Kinder): I baked 12 cupcakes. I put them in boxes with 2 cupcakes in each box. How many boxes of cupcakes do I have? 

Tuesday (Kinder): I had 18 books. I put 6 books in each book bag. How many bags did I use? 

Wednesday: (Kinder): Kelvin has 2 orange marbles, 13 purple marbles and 8 red marbles. How many marbles does Kelvin have altogether? 

Thursday: (Kinder): Addisan has a bag of lollipops that has 7 grape lollipops, 15 lemon lollipops, and 5 cherry lollipops. How many lollipops does she have altogether in the bag? 

Friday: (Kinder): Mrs. Pitzer has some snacks in her lunchbox. She packed 5 apples, 9 bags of chips, 12 fruit snacks. How many snacks are in her lunchbox altogether?

Monday (1st Grade): Keilah has 61 pieces of popcorn. Kassidy has 42 more pieces of popcorn than Keilah. How many pieces of popcorn does Keilah have?

 

Tuesday (1st Grade): Antonio has 37 baseball cards. Kemari has 46 more baseball cards than Antonio. How many baseball cards does Kemari have?

 

Wed. (1st Grade): Dallas read 28 books this year. Cameron read 64 more books than Warren. How many books did Cameron read?

Thurs. (1st Grade): Ms. Jackson's class collected 33 education boxtops. Ms. Pitzer's class collected 79 more boxtops than Ms. Jackson's class. How many boxtops did Ms. Pitzer's class collect?

Friday (1st Grade): The rose bush is 38 inches tall. The tree is 76 inches taller than the rose bush. How tall is the tree?
