10:15-11:00AM | STORY PROBLEM 

YOU are AWESOME! Grab a sheet of paper and solve the Story Problem of the day. Have your parent/guardian video (explaining how you solved the problem) or take pictures of you while doing it. Once you are finished, have a grownup post it Facebook using the hashtag #MEMPHISMERIT. You can use any materials from around the house to help you solve the problem. You can also call the virtual teacher for support!

Monday (Kinder): I have 8 cups of hot chocolate. There are 3 marshmallows in each cup. How many marshmallows do I have altogether? 

Tuesday (Kinder): I had 15 tropical fish. I put the fish into 5 fish bowls so there were the same number of fish in each bowl. How many fish were in each bowl? 

Wednesday: (Kinder): I had 21 pencils. I put them into 4 pencil boxes with the same number of pencils in each box. How many pencils are in each box? 

Thursday: (Kinder):Eric has 16 stickers. Lauren has 9 stickers. How many more stickers does Eric have than Lauren? 

Friday: (Kinder): JaNya has 17 grapes. Beyleigh has 8 grapes. How many more grapes does JaNya have than Beyleigh?

Monday (1st Grade): Darrell has 51 pieces of Skittles. Kassidy has 42 more pieces of Skittles than Keilah. How many pieces of popcorn does Keilah have?

Tuesday (1st Grade): Kyce has 27 basketball cards. Antonio has 43 more basketball cards than Antonio. How many basketball cards does Antonio have?

Wed. (1st Grade): Tamiya read 24 books this year. Joseph read 34 more books than Tamiya. How many books did Joseph read?

 

Thurs. (1st Grade): Ms. Jackson's class collected 53 education boxtops. Ms. Pitzer's class collected 89 more boxtops than Ms. Jackson's class. How many boxtops did Ms. Pitzer's class collect?

 

Friday (1st Grade): The apple tree is 38 inches tall. The tree is 76 inches taller than the orange tree. How tall is the orange tree?
